bio:
Shirley Chen is an Assistant Professor at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Alberta after completing her BA from the University of Western Ontario. Her research focuses on how technology influences consumers and how to introduce interventions to help increase consumer wellbeing.

What aspects of this research agenda are you most excited about?
I am most excited about collaborating with a group of passionate experts to help connecting theory with practice and make an impact on society.
Of all the work you have done, what project / paper is your personal favourite and why?
Difficult question. If I must choose one, using VR to help improve consumer financial wellbeing; this project combines both of my research interests.
Which is the one paper or book that you wish you had written (but have not)?
Too many to choose from! All foundational papers from behavioural economics and all of William James’work.
