Johannes Hoelzemann
Post-Doctoral Researcher (Toronto Experimental Economics Laboratory)
Johannes is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Economics and at BEAR.
His research interests are individual and strategic decision making, which he studies using theoretical and experimental tools. Johannes is particularly interested in strategic learning in its various settings and in what constitutes “rational” behavior, and investigating how (bounded) rationality can be revealed in various environments.
During his time as postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto, he has successfully built and been managing the Toronto Experimental Economics Laboratory (TEEL) together with Professor Yoram Halevy. Johannes holds a PhD in Economics from UNSW Sydney and teaches ECO316 Applied Game Theory at U of T.
